Yafa Fountain Pen Review
Going through some old office products I’d stuffed last time I relocated, I came across a Yafa Fountain Pen, dried out and abandoned for reasons I don’t keep in mind. Yafa is approximately the only real model of water feature pen you find at the office Depot (or Office Max, who can recall the huge difference?) except possibly an expensive Monteverde or two (which are produced by similar producer). There were a couple of ink cartridges in field, so I figured, let’s observe this works.
To be truthful, for an affordable (and sort of unsightly) pen, it writes pretty well! I can’t bear in mind the things I paid — under $20 without a doubt — but that is truthfully a great worth pen. The barrel is synthetic rather than great synthetic at that — it’s certainly lost several of its fresh-out-of-the-box sheen from being carried in my own pocket years back. The section is wrapped with a rubbery sleeve that cushions it somewhat — we don’t love it, however it’s pretty good, often. The limit is brushed steel with a great enough video, also it posts well.
I’m pretty sure the green ink cartridge i came across aided by the pen came with it at buy. Whatever its resource, it's a brief worldwide cartridge so that it are going to be an easy task to refill after the ink works out. I’m not sure if the barrel will accommodate a long worldwide cartridge, as I don’t get one to test out.
The nib is nothing unique. It’s marked “Iridium aim” so I’m guessing some generic German supplier (Yafa is an Italian organization). It appears to be dull and utilitarian but writes quite nicely. Though unlabeled, I’d call it a medium point. Ink moves really, regardless of various skips whenever I miss the sweet area by also large a mark. The cartridge does not apparently stay really solidly within the barrel, but though it feels like its scarcely linked, ink flow is powerful and regular and also the cartridge cannot rattle, even though you shake the pen. Plus the limit continues firmly, and so the nib does not dry up — I’ve however having a difficult begin since inking this pen.
