Lamy Blue ink Review

Eventually, the Safari is a cartridge/converter pen. The pen comes with one cartridge of Lamy blue ink, but a converter needs to be bought separately for some dollars much more.

Nibs

The Safari utilizes Lamy's compatible nibs that can fit other Lamy pens, such as the Al-Star, the Vista (basically, a clear Safari demonstrator), in addition to Studio. All Safaris include stainless-steel nibs, however, if you are prompted to trick down this pen I imagine that the gold nibs showcased on some of the higher priced Studio designs would additionally fit the Safari.

There is no should spend that more money, but because generally speaking, Lamy's metal nibs are perfectly satisfactory. I've had the most effective fortune with the medium nibs, which compose a normal "western method" range. The fine and extra-fine nibs can be scratchy, and quite often I'm able to barely inform a positive change between them. If you're interested in trying italic nibs, Lamy provides 1.1 and 1.5 mm choices, and are excellent for the price.

Takeaways

So is a Safari right for you? If you are deciding on one, here you will find the primary concerns to inquire of your self:

  • Could be the triangular hold section gonna frustrate you? If you believe that it might, and "grip guides" on pens and pencils have not struggled to obtain you previously, I would try to look for a Safari to test out just before spot an order.
  • Would you mind having a "funky searching" pen? With it's hold section and oversized limit and video, the Safari is "unique" looking, as you would expect. You'll get questions regarding this pen, and people would want to utilize it.
  • Will you be worried you're going to be tempted to get multiple? This is what I find is the primary issue-because Safaris (and AL-Stars too) aren't extremely expensive, the siren tune associated with the "limited version" becomes quite difficult to withstand. This season's minimal version AL-Star in Copper Orange has already been returning in my experience.

But once these issue are remedied, get a Safari. It's a good pen. Additionally it is one that I have had once before, sold to invest in another purchase, and straight away regretted permitting go. I am happy that one's back my pen case.
