Pilot G2 Mod
I have been reasonably contemplating water feature pencils for quite a while. Two to three weeks ago, a buddy uploaded raving concerning the Pilot Metropolitan. I've since found many individuals raving about its impressive price (~US$15) to overall performance. Today i've among each nib size. With a Noodler's Konrad on the road, to see how personally i think about flex nibs, and a bottle of Private Reserve Avocado, to use a great shading ink with more color.
"Fountain pens run via capillary activity and require no force to publish. This enables a comfortable hold, which leads to higher pen control and lower amounts of hand and wrist tiredness." - /r/fountainpens wiki
There is also an amazing realm of inks. Beyond every color possible, you can find variants in sheen, and shading (constant shade variation centered on ink saturation).
As handwriting practice, I decided to begin writing out my primary web page. Constantly area for enhancement, but i am having great fun with-it. Can't wait for that green black ink.
This might be the essential fun video clip of water fountain pen writing (maybe not mine). The pen is modified, anywhere near this much flex would damage (springtime) most pencils:
For a while, I'd been vaguely intereted in water fountain pencils. My personal favorite pens have been a Fisher Bullet area Pen in chrome with a fine blue cartridge for everyday carry, and a Pilot G2 0.7mm for when I did not require a thing that fit in my pocket (perhaps blue, possibly purple).
2016-01-19, a buddy posted to facebook raving towards Pilot Metropolitan in Medium.
I sat down with these three pens (Fisher Space, Pilot G2, Pilot Metropolitan) to attempt to determine basically actually had any desire for water feature pens. Fountain pens write less reliably (feathering and bleed through on inexpensive report, difficulty laying ink upon very shiny report), I'd require some tangable advantage. The room Pen thought dry and not smooth. The G2 thought smooth, except rattly and imprecise every time it made contact with report. The Metropolitan very precise, but kind of scratchy, until I started to learn how to compose with less pressure. Fountain pens require very little pressure to write. Ballpoints / rollerballs / serum pencils all need some level of force to give friction to turn a ball. Fountain pencils circulation from capilary activity. Touch the report as gently as you're able to, and it also flows. In addition to Metropolitan feels wonderful.
2016-01-29 we purchased HP LaserJet 24 pound (according to a from reddit), and a Brause Intro Calligraphy And composing Set (plunge pen - 6 nibs and a holder), and purchased Winsor and Newton violet gouache the dip pen.
I thought my 2nd water feature pen would be a Kawco Liliput, for portability to match my Fisher Bullet area Pen. After which we viewed the Karas Kustoms movie, and noticed how good clipping my Metropolitan into my forward jeans pocket would work. And therefore provides myself so many more choices. I became extremely stoked up about the Karas Kustoms until We discovered they don't post (you cannot put the limit from the straight back associated with pen).
2016-02-10 I ordered a Pilot Metropolitan Medium, Noodler's Konrad Flex pen, professional Reserve Avacado ink, 5ml blunt syringes, and 5ml finished centrifuge vials.
