Rotring 600 Gold - EF nib

Rotring 600 nib

Strictly speaking the Newton is certainly not a 600 whatsoever, although it is normally, as a matter of course, called a "600 brand new design." This will make some sense, as there is a brand new Newton that morphed into the Parker Facet. The very last pen seems to have a negative reputation among Rotring lovers. I think this reputation is unjustified, as it's actually an interesting fountain pen that also writes very well. But be that as it can, I don't wish discuss the various makes of Rotring right here. Instead, I would like to say anything on how to exchange the nibs associated with Newton 600 along with other nibs.

There is a lot of misinformation by what nibs the 600s simply take. In the event that you search the "fountain pen system" for "Rotring" and "nib, " you will notice why. Therefore, allow me to make something clear from the outset. The thing I say cannot hold when it comes to old-style 600s. They have various nibs, and I also do not know where you might get these (or the other Rotring Pens have the same nib).

You may still find some nibs the Newton regarding German e-bay website (for approximately $10.00). There are nibs for Esprit. They even fit. In addition know that the nibs of the Rotring Freeway and Esprit, readily available for between $25.00 and $40.00 on eBay are easily exchanged because of the more recent 600 (a.k.a. Newton). In both pencils, the the nib is friction fit. It easily draws straight-out from the feed area and it will easily be forced to the feed element of other pen. I've done this repeatedly and, particularly, have changed medium-nibbed Newtons 600 into fine-nibbed people. (i've maybe not exchanged gold nibs, but and I have no idea whether the nibs have the same design.)

Various other newer pens by Rotring have quite different nibs and should not be properly exchanged. In particular, the nibs of Altro, preliminary, the Rivette, the Core, the Skynn, and the Surf are different.[1] I would personally assume exactly the same holds the Rive (but i really do perhaps not own one of those and also perhaps not checked). I'm not saying that these nibs might not perhaps be jammed into the Newton 600, but just this cannot appear to be a good idea to me personally, that i might perhaps not do it, and therefore it'll most likely result in dilemmas.
