Lamy 2000 Fountain Pen price
Maintaining the piston is more dicey. If you look at different companies online, you will find details about just how to do it, nonetheless it’s slightly daunting in my opinion. There are some other pencils, such as the TWSBI 580, that I couldn’t wait to take apart and tinker with. I have no such desire with the Lamy 2000 piston system, simply because I can’t actually see just what is being conducted inside.
The road cost for Lamy 2000 is around $160 at speciality pen stores like Goulet Pens, Pen Chalet, and JetPens. As I noted above, the Lamy 2000 is unquestionably good candidate purchasing from a trusted store, but you will find deals to be enjoyed if you are ready to roll the dice only a little. For instance, as of this writing, there is specific nib sizes on Amazon in $125 range.
Whether you are having to pay complete street cost or obtaining a larger rebate, the Lamy 2000 is an excellent value. However, I don’t have regrets about perhaps not jumping in early in the day. Whilst the Lamy 2000 is a pen that I intend to wait to for longterm, it'sn’t become a “go-to” pen in my situation on a regular basis.
I believe some one making the jump on $150 mark to experience a silver nib would be much better served by the Pilot choices in this range (e.g., Vanishing Point, Personalized 74). Additionally there are some excellent steel nib pencils in this budget range, such as the Edison Collier that I evaluated formerly. I actually utilize and luxuriate in that pen much more than my Lamy 2000.
The Lamy 2000 is an iconic fountain pen and is outstanding inclusion to your collection. The product quality control problems it's known for are an important turn-off in my situation, but I think the pen’s distinctive design and exemplary writing knowledge succeed a worthwhile trade-off.
