New Calligraphy Nibs for

Calligraphy, Quills

Making a quill from a feather is not very hard, doesn't need most resources, and certainly will be lots of fun. My very first effort wrote fairly well, and my 3rd or forth was very nice. Disclaimer: I am not a professional, there are more techniques, probably better still ways, to produce a quill than this. However this works well with me personally and also you will dsicover it helpful.

Here's what you will need:

A soup can
Some fine sand
A tremendously sharp knife with a little knife
Some feathers
Calligraphy Ink

You can get all you need nevertheless the soup can at most craft stores. I went to Micheal's Art's and Crafts and got the feathers, sand and pastime knife for some dollars.

For the knife I used an Xacto hobby blade. Calligraphers use all different types of knives as his or her pen knives nevertheless primary requirement usually it is fairly short and VERY sharp.

Feathers. Most pastime stores sell turkey feathers. I got mine in a four pack for just two bucks. You want them become long, and check that the tips are not broken. They generally are dyed various colors, this can be fine.
